You nailed it throughout that the cheater (and the one cheated on) often, usually, always?, hasn't put the time in for self-awareness and emotional consciousness. All that said, as a few people commented, cheating is never okay. But critics of cheaters sould be relieved to know that unless the ceater is a sociopath, the cheater will always pay the price of what they did -- lie to and betray the one they love/loved the most -- for years.
